Self-regulating heating resistors

A heating resistor serves to directly control the conversion of electrical energy to heat.

Usually a polymer thick film resistor with PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) characteristic response is used for heating resistors. This produces a heater with self-control.

The conductive polymer thick-film available has a logarithmic temperature characteristic.

Given the right engineering, a heater can be produced achieving a defined surface temperature (for example 60 °C) as the heating power reduced by self-control.

Applications:

  • Car mirror heating
  • Avoiding condensation on electronic devices with dynamic temperature changes.

We would be pleased to process a feasibility study for you and to investigate the design details of your customized heating resistors.
