New mounting kit simplifies the installation of REDline central electrical modules in vehicles
Modular design offers a high degree of flexibility
With the introduction of the mounting kit, Würth Elektronik ICS is expanding its successful REDline product range for central electrical units. Vehicle manufacturers can now install the different control modules of the central electrical unit quickly and safely. The mounting kit’s modular design provides a flexible solution for the individual layout of the REDline modules.
With the REDline series, Würth Elektronik ICS has developed a successful line of standard components for the central electrical unit, which offers vehicle manufacturers an extremely cost-effective solution, especially for small production runs. The new mounting kit perfectly completes this product line. It is designed on a modular 61mm grid and can contain between two and five units. This allows mounting of up to five REDline modules in any combination. Larger, customized solutions can also be supplied on request.
“In response to the requirements of many of our customers, the REDline mounting kit provides a standardized mounting unit. This saves our customers the cost of expensive individual solutions,” explains Managing Director Albrecht Faber.
The mounting kit effectively complements the advantages of the REDline product range. Since the entire line consists of standard products, vehicle manufacturers are supplied with products that are available immediately, without having to invest in costly development. They are able to control vehicle functions quickly, flexibly and with minimum space requirements through the central electrical unit.
The innovative REDline CEU product line
Würth Elektronik ICS has applied its extensive expertise in solid press-fit technology and high current management to the development of REDline central electrical units.
REDline central electrical units are manufactured in press-fit technology, and are characterized by stable and reliable connections between circuit board and press-fit pins, low contact resistance and subsequently also low thermal stress on the components. In addition, double-sided mounting makes the modules so compact that they can be assembled in the smallest of spaces.
