Off the Clock Design Challenge: Calling All Tinkerers!
Wurth Electronics Midcom is excited to announce our new contest designed for people who like to tinker — either at home or at the office.
This is the inaugural year for our Off the Clock Design Challenge. Read on to learn how you can join us in this exciting journey (and maybe win a 3D printer or soldering station)!
How the Contest Works
At the end of 2016, Wurth Electronics released a wireless charging design kit developed with Rohm Semiconductor. This new medium-power design kit features a 15W charging capability for wireless applications.
For our Off the Clock Design Challenge, we’re asking you to design the wireless kit into an end product of your choice and blog your development process along the way.
The contest is free to enter, and we will provide applicants with the wireless kit and other approved products free of charge. ( See terms and conditions here.)
When to Apply
Applicants should apply before February 17, 2017, to be eligible to contend.
Be sure to check out the complete list of rules and regulations for more information, including the judging rubric to be used to evaluate entries.
We can’t wait to see what you’ve got in mind and in store!
The Off the Clock Design Challenge will launch on March 10, 2017. The deadline for final product submission will be June 7, 2017. That means you have three whole months to wow us with your design skills!
What You Could Win
What’s in it for you?
Prizes include a Hakko FX 951 soldering station, a XYZPrinting 3D printer, a 3Doodler pen, accessories, and more.
Winners will be determined by public voting for the People's Choice Award and by a panel of Wurth Electronics judges for the Manufacturer's Choice Award.
Judging will be based upon your process blog, social media posts, innovation, and creativty.
