Q&A With Our Staff At Wurth Electronics

Dragan Dinulovic, Product Project Manager

Garching, Germany

Q: What can we expect to learn at your session?

A: I will present to you our newest development in field of magnetics on silicon. We recently developed a new thin-film microtransformer device suitable for power application at high switching frequencies between 1 MHz and 10 MHz. Two microtransformer designs with same size but with different winding style are realized. The first design, with interleaved primary and secondary windings, shows an inductance of 400nH where the second design, with separated windings, shows an inductance of 800nH. Microtransformer devices are tested in DC/DC converter applications.

Mahmoud's Session Details:

  • Session Name: Magnetics

A: I am interested to see the newest development in magnetics on silicon, PwrSoC (Power System on Chip) and integration of power systems.

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?

A: My dream was to work as a bio scientist. One half of my dream is now fulfilled. I am working now as researcher but in the field of magnetics on silicon.

Cameron Albin, Key Account Manager

Q: What is your favorite place you’ve ever traveled?

A: Aside from my love affair with the Atlanta airport, visiting our production facilities in Asia was an eye opening experience. I interacted with the vibrant Chinese people and observed a new way of life.

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up

A: I had no idea. I thought maybe an astronaut since I grew up in Houston. My parents thought I would be a lawyer since I argued... with everyone... about everything... all the time.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at APEC?

A: The Wurth Electronics cowboy hats are a top contender, but I look forward to seeing what each company will showcase. To be valuable to my customers, I try to stay abreast of new trends. Where companies are placing their focus speaks volumes about the future of the industry. I can’t wait to see where IC Companies and other component companies are placing their big bets.
