APEC 2017: Stop by Booth #811 to Meet Jesse, Matt, Lorandt, Emil, and Thibault!

This year, Wurth Electronics is excited that we will have over 50 employees traveling to Tampa, FL to attend APEC 2017! With so many employees attending the conference we thought we would give you a chance to meet a handful of them.

You can stop by booth #811 to meet some of them, others you might find attending (or presenting!) technical seminars.

Q&A With Our Staff At Wurth Electronics

Jesse VanOverbeke, Design Engineer

Watertown, SD

Q: What is your favorite end product you've assisted with?

A: Many times we don’t know exactly what kind of product our transformers & inductors are going into. Many times we only know it is going in a power supply for an industrial application or a white goods application, etc. However, I do have one project with Keurig for a coffee pot. I had the opportunity to go out to the Boston area and see the Keurig facility. It was a great visit and really cool to see the end products.

Q: Who is your March Madness pick?

A: Duke. It is pretty difficult to say right now, before the brackets come out, but I am a Duke fan.

Q: What is your favorite place you’ve ever traveled?

A: Germany. It is a beautiful country with amazing architecture and a rich history.

Matt Jackson, Area Sales Manager

Q: Favorite end product you’ve assisted with?

A: The first connected cycling platform carbon fiber smart bike. Has turn by turn directions so you can focus on the road without missing your next turn. The bike tracks all your ride metrics for fitness with smart navigation system. Let the handlebars guide you on your next commute…

Q: What emerging technology are you most looking forward to?

A: What I am looking forward to the most is the rewarding exchange of technical knowledge and gaining valuable industry connections. This opportunity, which is truly only possible at APEC, is the premier event in the electronics Industry.

Q: What booth are you most looking forward to visiting at APEC?

A: Other than the Wurth Electronics both?? I am looking forward to seeing what new directions are emerging in the field, and maybe even find new solutions to the problems we face in the field every day. I always need to continue to improve and find solutions for my customers.

Lorandt Foelkel, Product Manager - Energy Harvesting

Waldenburg, Germany

Q: What is your favorite end product you’ve assisted with?

A: A “Night Vision” for a German car manufacturer.

Q: How many languages do you speak?

A: Not one perfect, but I can speak 6 languages.

Q: How many countries have you visited?

A: I have been to 41 countries.

Emil Nierges, Product Applications Engineer

Munich, Germany

Q: Favorite place you’ve ever traveled?

A: Tuscany Italy

Q: What booth are you most looking forward to visiting at APEC?

A: IC manufacturers are my favorites followed by component suppliers.

Q: What do you want people to know about your product specialty?

A: I’m Product Applications Engineer and my role is to help IC manufacturers with their reference designs by providing technical support along with optimal transformer designs to fit in their target applications.

Thibault Paillier, Strategic Partnership Manager

Plano, TX

Q: Have you ever been to Tampa? What is your favorite part about Florida?

A: Yes! I have flown to Tampa many times because I have some family living on a beautiful island off the coast of Sarasota, about 1:30h from Tampa. But I have never really stop in Tampa. Recently, I had the chance to travel to Tampa and stay there for a few days. I love the city, the weather is just perfect and I can’t wait to go back there for APEC and discover more of it.

Q: Who is your March Madness pick?

A: I will go with Duke, but if we can have a final as amazing as last year I will not be disappointed if they don’t make it. Just want to see some beautiful basketball!

Q: Favorite place you’ve ever traveled?

A: So far it is Koh Phi Phi Island in Thailand, white sand, sun, blue sea… they filmed the movie 'The Beach' with Leonardo DiCaprio there… But the beach in Florida aren’t that bad either.

We Want To Meet You Too! Stop By Booth #811.
